Today's ratings:
laundry, 8 points, processing smoothly (still need to fold yesterday's
load, but dried and folded the sheets, washed jeans and put them in dryer)
diet, 4 points, poor (but eaten with gusto)
exercise, 0 points, nonexistent
putting away ornaments and taking down Christmas tree, 0 points, abysmal
studying, 0.001 points, considered but not implemented
drinking, 10 points, exceptionally virtuous, no alcohol intake since
Saturday
smoking, still not, and enthusiastically so, 10 points,
blogging, 6 points, fair (posted several entries of mediocre (or worse)
quality; however it is a start and I think working in the nested
parentheses (not to mention spelling it) should qualify me for bonus
points that might make up for some of the other shortcomings), with 2
bonus points, which ties "blogging" with "laundry" for the lead among
real categories that are not "drinking" or "smoking".

I've read Bridget Jones, and I, sir, am no Bridget Jones.
